Theresa calls on council to look again at crèche closure

Theresa May has responded to reports that the crèche at the Magnet Leisure Centre is to be closed by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. A group of local mothers and fathers supporting the continuation of the crèche has collected nearly 700 signatures on a petition calling the Royal Borough to reconsider their decision which Theresa is presenting to the Council.

Theresa said, “It is clear that many local mums value this service and at a time when we want to encourage people to get fit I would be sorry to see the crèche close.”

“I know that the Council has to look carefully at its finances but I am pressing them to look again at this proposal. I’m particularly concerned they ensure that they are looking at all the options for keeping this open.”
