Theresa May has met the Secretary of State for Transport, Justine Greening, to discuss the likely impact of the Olympic and Paralympic Games on transport in and around Maidenhead. With rowing events taking place at nearby Eton Dorney, Maidenhead is likely to be a key transport link and Theresa therefore sought assurances that appropriate measures had been put in place to ensure that the road and rail network will be able to cope with the expected number of visitors.Read More

Theresa May has held a meeting with senior executives at BT to discuss her constituents’ concerns about the provision of broadband and super fast broadband in parts of her constituency. A number of constituents in Waltham St Lawrence, Fifield and Hurley have raised issues about their broadband connectivity and Theresa sought assurances from BT that action was being taken to address them. Theresa May has held a meeting with the Chief Executive of NHS Berkshire to question him about reports that services could be removed from St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead. Theresa met Charles Waddicor to discuss the progress of NHS Berkshire’s ‘Shaping the Future’ project, which is considering the future of health services in East Berkshire. Although many different options are being looked at, local residents have been concerned by reports that outpatient services could be removed from St Marks as part of a plan to centralise services at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.Read More
