The annual Lions Swimarathon is a high point in Maidenhead’s calendar and Theresa was delighted to drop in to cheer on those taking part.
Organised by the Lions Club of Maidenhead, 2024 marks the Swimarathon’s 39th year, which sees teams’ complete relays in a pool for 12 hours.
Participants in the competition are from schools, churches, and local authorities, with donations and gift aid shared 50:50 between each team’s chosen charity and the Maidenhead Lions Club, which will donate funds to good causes in the community throughout the year.
The event has already raised over £26,000 and the Club Secretary said that she is hoping to raise £39,000 to mark the event’s 39th year.
