As President of Wargrave Womens and Girls Football Club I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to England's Lionesses on their triumph in the Women’s Euro 2022.
The Lionesses lifted not only the 2022 Euros trophy, they also lifted the nation's heart after 56 years of waiting.
This is a fantastic result not just for women’s football, but for sport across England as a whole.
It is my hope that many young girls across Wargrave and the entire Maidenhead constituency will be inspired by the Lionesses’ example and will follow their lead by getting involved in sports locally.
Congratulations Lionesses. Football has been brought home.
