GWR has opened bidding for their 2020/21 Customer and Communities Improvement Fund (CCIF).

Previously supported schemes have included station and car park infrastructure, information including connections to other public transport, cycling and walking, railway history and heritage, play equipment, outreach and familiarisation, destination marketing, training for employment, school safety and career education, accessibility and diversity initiatives. In the most recent round of funding, money was allocated towards an Enhanced Travel Plan for Twyford.

Schemes must be deliverable in the 2020/21 financial year. GWR are asking for proposals for this round of bids by 17:00, 8 September 2019. Funds will be available if a new GWR franchise is concluded as per the Department of Transport's 2017 announcement.
