Maidenhead MP Theresa May's visit to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

"I was pleased to be able to visit the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Headquarters in Maidenhead on 2nd June.

The organisation does such extremely good work maintaining the graves of those servicemen and women who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars and we are fortunate that Maidenhead is their home.

I was also interested to hear of the work they do maintaining graves here in the UK and to be able to see this for myself in All Saints Cemetery.

There are a number of commemorations of those who lost their lives in the two world wars in the cemetery particularly of members of the Air Transport Auxiliary which was headquartered in White Waltham during the Second World War.

The Commission is keen to encourage volunteers to help them in their work locally so if you enjoy gardening and would like to help to maintain the memory of those brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom then please get in touch with the Commission."
