Me2 Club Visit

  • 31 Aug 2021

Maidenhead MP Theresa May visited Me2 Club, a club which is dedicated to providing support for children with additional needs.

Commenting on her visit Theresa said: "Me2 Club provides a really important support service for children with additional needs which enables them to access the clubs and activities which their peers enjoy, but which all too often without this support they simply couldn’t enjoy.

Often groups like scouts worry about whether they can provide for a child with additional needs, but with the help and support of Me2 Club’s volunteers the answer is yes they can.

This benefits the child and their family but it also benefits the group they are joining. This is a great charity which really makes a difference to children’s lives."

Me 2 Chief Executive Shaun Polley commented on Theresa's visit: "It was a privilege to welcome Theresa and share details about the difference we make to the lives of children with additional needs and disabilities.

Over the course of the pandemic, the children and families we support have experienced higher levels of isolation and it’s been important for us to adapt our services to continue to meet their needs.

We’re now in the process of carefully matching children to new volunteers, ready to begin their favourite leisure activity from September.”
