Nortel update

  • 5 Jun 2009

Theresa is continuing to press the Government and administrators Ernst and Young for a fair deal for ex-Nortel employees.

Theresa said, “I am furious that more than 100 people made redundant from Nortel without consultation have still not seen any redundancy pay. This is an appalling way to treat ex-employees, particularly as the company is still handing out bonuses to senior staff. I am concerned that a worrying precedent for any future large-scale redundancies is being set.”

“I am working with a group of MPs and ex-employees and we intend to use all possible avenues to press the Government and the administrators for fair treatment and fair compensation.”

Theresa has met with a delegation of ex-Nortel employees and will also be speaking with other interested MPs.
