Public meeting to discuss new hospital for Maidenhead area

  • 8 Jan 2013

Theresa May will be attending a public meeting this week to discuss proposals for a new hospital serving the Maidenhead area. The proposal to build a new hospital at Junction 8/9 of the M4, near Maidenhead, was first put forward by Theresa several years ago and has recently been taken forward by Dr Philip Lee, the MP for Bracknell, who has published a detailed report on how the new hospital could come into being. The public meeting will take place at the Maidenhead Holiday Inn on Thursday 10th January at 7:30pm.

The meeting will be attended by Theresa and Dr Lee and is open to local residents who wish to hear more about the proposal or discuss issues relating to health services in Berkshire.

Commenting, Theresa said: “I have long supported the concept of a new hospital at Junction 8/9 of the M4 and it is great that Philip Lee has been able to take this forward and publish new proposals. This is an important part of the wider debate about the NHS in Berkshire, and I will always look for opportunities to safeguard and enhance local services.”
