Theresa May backs Royal Crown Derby's campaign in aid of NHS Charities Together

  • 22 Apr 2020

On 9th April Royal Crown Derby launched it’s ‘make a mug, make a difference’ competition which gives children the opportunity to design a mug that celebrates the NHS. The winning mugs will be made by Royal Crown Derby with 100% of sale profits donated directly to NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.

The competition has two entry categories, under 12’s and 12-18 and the winner in each category will be selected by the artist and children’s author Liz Million. Royal Crown Derby aims to produce 26,299 mugs, representing and celebrating every day since the formation of the NHS on 5th July 1948 to its 72nd anniversary in 2020.

Theresa May commented: ‘I was thrilled to hear about Royal Crown Derby’s competition which gives children a creative challenge and an opportunity to learn about our NHS. I know how artistic children in Maidenhead are from the many entries I get to my Christmas card competition. This is another chance for the artists of Maidenhead, and I hope to see a competition winner from our constituency. Thank you to Royal Crown Derby’s for its efforts in creating this campaign and for donating 100% of profits to NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal.’

Competition entries are now open and will close at 4 p.m. on May 7, 2020. Details of how to enter are available here: www.royalcrownderby.co.uk/makeadifference.
