Support the Berkshire Disability Appeal

  • 1 Jun 2015

Theresa May is encouraging local residents to support the Berkshire Disability Appeal, which is raising money to support local people of all ages with physical, mental or learning disabilities. Money raised through the appeal will stay in the local community and go to where it is needed most – funding local charities and community groups doing vital grassroots work, helping to support people living with a disability.

There are almost 110,000 people living in Berkshire with a long-term health problem or disability that limits their day-to-day activities – that is about 1 in 8 people.

Berkshire Community Foundation already funds a wide range of disability charities and community groups across the whole of Berkshire. Through this dedicated appeal it hopes to be able to support many more organisations and improve the lives of thousands more people living with disabilities in Berkshire.

People can donate to the appeal online at www.localgiving.com/BerkshireDisabilityAppeal

Donations by cheque can be sent to Berkshire Community Foundation, 100 Longwater Avenue, Green Park, Reading, RG2 6GP. Cheques should be made payable to “Berkshire Community Foundation” and clearly marked that the donation is for the Berkshire Disability Appeal.
