Theresa launches new evening commuter service for Maidenhead

  • 4 Nov 2009

Theresa May has officially launched the new 17:51 fast train service from Paddington which now stops at Maidenhead. Theresa said “I am delighted that after sustained pressure from me and local rail users, First Great Western has managed to secure a new fast commuter service which gets into Maidenhead at 18:09 – just a twenty minute journey time from Paddington.”

“I have been calling on FGW for a better evening service for some time now and this new train should improve the timetable for everybody. There is still some way to go before we have the service we want – in particular there is an urgent need for a better evening service from Maidenhead and Twyford – but I am pleased to see that FGW have listened to these calls and are continuing to improve the service.”
