Theresa May continues to campaign about the cut in train services from Wargrave who GWR have confirmed will see off-peak train services reduced to once and hour instead of every 45 minutes.

GWR had said that additional services could be provided at Wargrave once the branch line is electrified in 2019, however, since electrification will be deferred, Theresa is pressing GWR to look at other options to find an alternative solution in order for Wargrave to have an improved service.

She met with the Managing Director of GWR to discuss the other infrastructure opportunities that might gain the extra line speed necessary to add the extra stops at Wargrave and has raised this with Network Rail.

Commenting, Theresa said: “I maintain my belief that it is not acceptable for my constituents in Wargrave to be disadvantaged so that passengers in Henley can get a faster service. I will continue to press for an improved service at Wargrave.”
