Theresa welcomes support for elderly, homeless and vulnerable people in Twyford

  • 29 Oct 2013

Theresa May has welcomed an initiative from the Twyford branch of Waitrose to support elderly, homeless and vulnerable people this Christmas. Waitrose will help support Christmas lunch events for people who would otherwise be on their own on Christmas Day, and is inviting local groups who are putting on lunches to apply for support.

The deadline for groups to apply for support is 15th November and can be submitted to the Branch Manager, Steve Peppiatt, via Waitrose Twyford in London Road.

Commenting, Theresa said: “This is an excellent initiative and I hope that local charities and community groups will consider applying. It is good to see Waitrose supporting the local community in this way. Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for those who are on their own, and I know that many local groups will be putting on special events this Christmas to help support more vulnerable people.”
