Theresa seeks nominations for the best South Asian restaurant in Maidenhead

  • 10 Apr 2019

Theresa May is once again encouraging food lovers with a fondness for curries to nominate their favourite local restaurant for a competition to find the best South Asian eatery in the UK.

The Tiffin Cup, now in its 14th year, is organised by a group of food-loving Members of Parliament. Each year, MPs are asked to nominate a South Asian restaurant in their constituency. Ten entrants are then shortlisted by region and invited to a special cook-in at Bellamy’s restaurant where the overall winner will be crowned. Chaired by celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott, the final takes place on 2nd July 2019.

The competition aims to raise the profile of South Asian food in Britain while raising money for the charity World Vision.

Theresa said: “We have some fantastic South Asian restaurants in the Maidenhead constituency so I am confident that we can find one to make the short-list and represent us at the final cook-in. This is a great opportunity to champion your favourite so please email me with your nominations.”

Nominations for this year’s award should be emailed to [email protected] with the subject ‘Tiffin Cup 2019’ by Tuesday 16th April.
