Theresa May has welcomed the Government’s announcement that wheel clamping on private land is to be banned, bringing an end to the practices of rogue wheel clampers in Maidenhead and the local area. When the ban comes into force anybody clamping or towing a vehicle on private land will face tough penalties, meaning that motorists will no longer fall victim to the unscrupulous tactics operated by many clamping firms – something that has been a particular problem in Maidenhead.Read More

Theresa May has praised efforts to improve customer safety at stations in her constituency. In a letter addressed to local Station Manager, Andrew Dickinson, Theresa highlighted the number of rural stations which have been accredited and reaccredited under the Department for Transport’s Secure Stations Scheme in the local area.Read More

Theresa May has welcomed the announcement by six local schools that they are investigating Academy status under the Government’s education reforms. The headteachers of the six schools have jointly written to the Education Secretary, Michael Gove, indicating their interest in exploring Academy status, which would bring additional freedoms away from control of the local authority.Read More

Theresa May has welcomed the Government’s decision to cancel the third runway project at Heathrow Airport. The third runway, which was planned by the previous Government, would have resulted in additional flights and increased noise and pollution in the Maidenhead and Twyford areas, and was opposed by Theresa and many local residents.Read More
