Fire sparks more alarm over Grundon site

Theresa May has expressed her concerns after a major fire at the Grundon Waste Management site in Star Lane, Knowl Hill. The fire, which raged from 3pm to 11pm on Friday 20th February, caused considerable disturbance to local residents and raised fears about safety.Read More

Recycle Christmas cards and help the environment

Victory for lock keepers campaign

The Environment Agency have announced a U-turn on their decision to get rid of residential lock keepers in the Thames Valley area. After six months of reviewing their initial decision, the Environment Agency has decided to retain ownership of the 52 lock houses that are either on or adjacent to lock sites and thus retain the invaluable skills of the lock keepers. Theresa May has welcomed the announcement, particularly as lock keepers at Boulters Lock and Cookham Lock were both under threat.Read More

‘Friends of the Earth’ praise Theresa for her work on climate change

Theresa May has been praised by the Executive Director of ‘Friends of the Earth’, Andy Atkins, for playing her part in driving the Climate Change Bill through Parliament and into law. The Bill establishes a legally-binding set of carbon budgets which run until 2050 when the UK must have reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 80% below 1990 levels.Read More
