Theresa May has given her support to proposals to designate a new conservation area in Furze Platt. The plan, which has been drawn up by local residents, would see the ‘triangle’ created by Linden Avenue, Courthouse Road and Furze Platt Road adopted as a conservation area, meaning that its character and identity could be better protected against inappropriate development. Theresa May has urged a public inquiry to ensure fair play in the planning system by upholding an enforcement notice against an unauthorised traveller site in Waltham St Lawrence. Appearing before the inquiry in Maidenhead, Theresa highlighted the strong concerns of local residents about the site and pressed the inquiry to support measures to protect the Green Belt. Read More
