On Friday 16 March, Theresa visited the Housing Solutions office in Maidenhead to hear about the new affordable homes being developed and to meet with local residents who have benefitted through its business start-up initiative.
On arriving at Housing Solutions, Theresa met with the Chair of Board, Liz Padmore, and the Chief Executive, Orla Gallagher where they set out their plans to build over 1,400 new affordable homes in Maidenhead and the surrounding areas by the year 2020.
Theresa then met with Housing Solutions tenants who had been supported back into work through a new business initiative. In partnership with RBMW and Enterprise Cube, Housing Solutions tenants can be sponsored to attend a business training course which has seen graduates going on to start-up their own local business. Some of the successful tenants Theresa met included a specialist biscuit bakery, a gymnastics school, and a photography company.
