Rivers and flooding

Maidenhead is fortunate to have the River Thames running along the northern edge of the constituency – a natural resource bringing enjoyment to local people and also bringing investment and tourism into the area.

Of course, a key issue relating to the river is flooding. Theresa has consistently raised constituents’ concerns with the Environment Agency, including about the issue of dredging along the river, and their approach to maintaining the Thames, the Loddon and streams running into the rivers. Following serious flooding in 2014 she took up a series of proposals with the EA, Thames Water and local council designed to prevent future flooding.
